There is a correlation between happy relationships and a happy life. This can go for supportive romantic relationships, strong friendships, and close bonds between family.

A good friend or significant other can really help you through difficult times. Some components of a happy relationship are love, commitment, communication, empathy, and conflict resolution.

You can build these things and with time, consistency, and frequency you can develop strong relationships that act as anchors in life, which can sometimes get bumpy.

They Can Decrease Stress
A happy relationship can reduce stress in life, which is one of the biggest causes of disease, sickness, and the degradation of the body and mind. It can strengthen your immune system, lower your blood pressure and anger levels. A good relationship can decrease the number of doctor visits you’ll need and fewer colds!

You Recover Better
When you have a lot of social and emotional support around you, you tend to heal quicker.

You Feel Valued And Purposeful
Rather than spending time with random people you don’t really know you on a personal level at parties or outings, having close personal relationships with people who value you and care about your feelings can make you feel more positive about yourself. Many people in very close romantic relationships feel as though they can be part of something ‘bigger’ than themselves.

You Live Longer
This is pretty self-explanatory; you live longer when you are in a close relationship. Research studies show that marriage can help men live longer.

A single predictor of human happiness is the quality of social relationships. Remember, there is a big picture to overall health and wellness, and it includes close, loving relationships that satisfy you.
