Some foods can make you sleepy, others can make you bloated – but have you heard of the foods that can make you happier?

Indeed, there are foods that can improve your mood and make you experience elevated feelings of joy and happiness. Good food can equal a good mood. There are a lot of benefits of being happy.

Scientific research results state that being happy can decrease stress levels, boost your immune system, guard your heart, and even reduce feelings of pain your body can experience.

When our bodies feel joy, they release dopamine and serotonin which are neurotransmitters found in the brain. Individuals who experience depression and sadness have low levels of serotonin and dopamine. Being happy can even extend your life.

Salmon is a great source of protein, offering up to 22 grams of protein in a single serving (1 oz). Salmon is rich in omega-3 which can lower your risk of depression. It can increase positive mood and feelings of joy.

Dark Chocolate
It doesn’t hurt to see chocolate on the list, specifically, dark chocolate. Dark chocolate kick starts the production of endorphins, the pleasure chemical. All you need is a daily dose of 1 to 2 ounces or 30 to 60 grams.

Black Coffee
Many people around the world swear by coffee. It’s a staple in various cultures and traditions universally. It can boost your mood and increase your alertness. That’s why many people opt to drink a cup of coffee in the morning as soon as they wake up.

Pomegranates are refreshing and tasty. They are rich in antioxidants which contain anti-aging properties. This delectable fruit is juicy and rich in flavor. It is great for your joints and boosting your mood. Studies prove a cup of pomegranate juice can improve your mood consistently if it’s consumed on a daily basis. In many cultures pomegranates symbolize a sign of good fortune and prosperity.
