Option 1: Swap ice cream for Greek yogurt and fruit
Ice cream can be extremely high in sugar. According to the American Heart Association, the highest amount of added sugars you should eat per day are 37.5 grams for men and 25 grams for women. Greek yogurt with nuts, berries, and honey is an excellent substitute for ice cream. It’s a high protein and satiating snack!

Option 2: Swap a slice of pizza for a baked bagel
A slice of pizza can have up to 460 mg of sodium and 5 grams of saturated fat. Health professionals recommend you remain under 2,300 mg of sodium. Slices of pizza can make the sodium content in your body add up quickly. Add sliced tomatoes, oregano, olive oil, and mozzarella cheese to a whole grain bagel. Bake the bagel until it’s slightly crisp and the cheese has melted.

Option 3: Swap a burger for chicken or fish sandwich
Dieticians recommend limiting consumption of red meat to less than 3 portion per week. It can be taxing on your body to consume copious amounts of red meat. Chicken and fish are excellent sources of lean protein. You can use whole wheat bun options for a healthier meal.
