Your gym or fitness center might be closed down during these times to ensure the safety and health of the public. It may be disappointing, but that does not mean that you can’t workout. Now more than ever, you can be creative and mix up your workout style. Especially if you have access to the internet, your possibilities are endless.

1. Dance
Dancing is a great way to reduce stress and break a sweat. Zumba, belly dancing, salsa, and any other conceivable dance employs the full use of your body.

2. HIIT Cardio Workout
High intensity cardio is one of the best methods to preserve muscle and burn fat. All you need is 20 to 30 minutes of high intensity cardio for an effective workout. There are many videos online that guide you through different types of HIIT workouts.

3. Jump Rope
Jump roping is a full body workout that utilizes the arms, legs, and abdomen to stabilize the body. There’s a reason why jump roping is a pillar of boxing workouts. It can improve your coordination, endurance, and stamina.

4. Body weight exercises
An old classic, but effective nonetheless. Body weight exercises such as planks, pushups, squats, and lunges done in high repetitions at a rapid rate can be a great workout.

If you’ve noticed that you’ve greatly reduced the amount of activity due to the lock down of schools and work you can also reduce the number of calories you consume to match the reduced levels of activity. Afterall, food is meant for sustenance rather than over indulgence.
