Do you think you’re getting the most out of your gym sessions? If you’re making the effort to head to the gym multiple times a week, you want to be sure you’re maximizing your efforts to get the most out of your time. You may want to consider these 4 tips below.
1. Go in with a plan
Have you stepped into the gym without a plan and drifted from machine to machine? If you have, you’re definitely not getting the most out of your gym time. Before each workout, create a clear plan of what muscles you want to target and what machines and equipment you will utilize.
2. Commit to a schedule
It’s no use to go to the gym a few days in a row and then miss for an entire week! Consistency is key. If you want to see results, you need to create a consistent schedule and stick to it for at least 3 months. You should commit to going to the gym 3 to 6 days out of the week depending on your fitness level.
3. Consistently foam roll
Foam rolling is an excellent way to relax your body and relieve muscle tightness. You should foam roll before and after you complete a workout. It can help improve your range of motion when you’re performing your typical gym exercises. Try to foam roll any tight areas you feel on your body.
4. Don’t sit around between sets
You should take a few second to recover while you’re performing a set of exercises, but you shouldn’t start checking your phone or sit down for many minutes at a time. You want to keep the intensity of your workout at a high level. You shouldn’t be taking too little or too long of a rest period between sets.
