Going to the gym and getting fit is really fun and exciting when you initially begin. That’s why so many people create resolutions and goals on special holidays, but they end up loosing motivation and stamina later on. There are a million different resources available about losing weight, but you need to remain on the right path to see results. The key to creating change in your body is to remain consistent. You cannot work out for a week and then stop and resume after a few more weeks. Your regiment cannot be spotty, it must be consistent.
Unfortunately, motivation alone isn’t enough to take you to your goals. Consistency is vital. You can incorporate these tips in your life to remain consistent with your training and diet.
1. Write it down
Write down your goals on a piece of paper. Record everything you envision about your end goal, what it looks like, feels, and more. Be sure to include detail and descriptions, the more the better. It doesn’t matter how far away you may be from your end vision, write down what you truly desire. Save this for days you are struggling to make it to the gym or stay true to your eating choices, reminding yourself of your end goal can give you clarity and determination.
2. Create a routine
Find a routine that will fit with your health and fitness goals. Document your exercises and eating habits.
3. Don’t wait for motivation
It’s impossible to feel motivated all of the time. It would be nice if we could, but that’s not realistic. Good habits will keep you on track, so you don’t have to wait for motivation. Set a time to go to the gym each day so you can make it a routine.
4. Track your results
Keep a journal where you can record your weight, measurements, and any other notes. This will help you differentiate between what is working and what isn’t working. You can also hold yourself accountable by checking your results once a week.
