Many gym goers have their own ideals of how they want to look and feel. Lean muscle mass is a goal of many who do a combination of weight lifting and cardio. After all, lean muscle mass allows you to look and fit better in your clothing.
Lean muscle mass is easier to maintain than large bulky muscles. Excess fat with the muscle can also give a large and bulky appearance. Trimming down the fat in your body is a great way to get the slim and toned look.
Low Intensity Cardio
Running 3 to 5 miles each day can significantly slim down your body – particularly your legs. Walking for an hour per day is another great low intensity option. Boxing is a great sport to slim down bulky muscle.
Tip: Include a sweat belt into your cardio routine to get an extra sweat
High Repetition Low Weight
Many gym goers prefer to practice a routine of heavy weights and low reps. This type of practice creates larger muscle mass. Rather than using heavy weights and performing low repetitions, try high repetitions and lower weight. For example, rather than 3 to 5 sets for 6 to 8 repetitions with a heavy weight instead do 3 to 5 sets for 20 repetitions with a lower weight.
Yoga
Yoga is great because it stretches out your muscles and elongates your body. It increases your range of motion and flexibility. 10 to 15 minutes of yoga in the morning can improve the quality of your entire day.
Body Weight Exercise
Performing lunges, squats, and burpees with your body weight alone is a great way to slim down bulky muscle.
