Healthy Morning Ritual

How you start your day sets the tone for the remainder of it. Take a moment to think about how you start your day. Are you in a rush? Do you stumble out of bed? Do you scarf down some breakfast and make your way to your car?

Life can be extremely busy, but if you carve out 15 minutes in the morning for yourself – you can see a great improvement in the quality of your life. Follow these tips below to have a great morning routine.

1. Prayer
No matter your religion or what higher power you believe in, taking a few moments to pray upon waking up can impact your day positively.

Several studies have found that praying can actually reduce unhealthy behavior and cause an increase in self-control.

2. Meditation
In a fast-paced world, meditation can be a great source of peace and tranquility. It builds your discipline because it takes a resolute mind to remain still in body and mind. 5 to 15 minutes of meditation each day can improve your morning. If you’re new to meditation, try starting with 5 minutes and building your way up.

3. Yoga
After being in the few of the same positions for hours at night, just 10 minutes of yoga can improve your flexibility, agility, and strength. There are plenty of free and open yoga sources for you to follow on platforms like YouTube.

4. Hydrate
After sleeping for 7 to 9 hours at night, waking up is the perfect time to hydrate. You can drink simple water or you can go for teas like green tea, mint tea, or black tea. Water with some lemon slices is also a great option.

5. Journal
If you don’t own an agenda, journal, or planner – now would be a great time to pick one up. You can take 5 minutes out of your morning to plan what you want to accomplish for the day or even pencil in some fun for later.
