Staying lean is easy if you follow the right protocol. Most of it does depend on your diet, probably close to 90%. You can stay lean year around if you follow a certain lifestyle. There are a few pillars that stand firm in staying lean year around, incorporate these habits into your daily routine to see results:
Add More Vegetables:
According to a study conducted by the CDC, most individuals are not eating enough vegetables in their diet. Health officials recommend two to three cups of vegetables per day. Stick to vegetables that grow above ground because they’re easier to digest. Stick to vegetables such as kale, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cucumber, and asparagus. Steer away from potatoes, carrots, corn and beets as they are high in carbs.
Cut Out Dessert
This may sound like an atrocity to most people, but cutting out desert an excess sugar is key. The average diet is highly-saturated with artificial sweeteners and excess sugars. Adding to much sugar in your diet can lead to higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, and fatty liver disease. It won’t help you stay lean either.
Cut Out The Junk Drinks
This includes alcohol, fizzy sodas, and sugary juices. Stay away from too much alcohol. If you do choose to indulge in a drink, stick to alcohol that is naturally gluten free such as tequila, gin, or rum since they come from earthly sources. Wine is also gluten free because it is made out of grapes. Drink at least 8 glasses of water, especially as soon as you wake up.
Exercise
Exercise is great for keeping your body tones and an excellent way to destress. Again, diet is 80 to 90 percent of staying lean. Be sure to include 15 to 30 minutes of cardio. You can add body weight exercises or light weights. You don’t need to exercise extremely hard, if you want to stay long and lean focus on stretching a lot and sticking to low-impact, low-intensity exercises.
Listen To Your Body
Eat until you’re satisfied, key word is satisfied. Do not eat until you’re full and feel uncomfortable. Just eat when you feel full again, avoid eating while you’re distracted like watching the TV. Avoid eating when you are bored and need a filler for your boredom. You can avoid this by drinking enough water, keeping a food diary, and even brushing your teeth.
Tip: Dandelion Tea
Dandelion tea is excellent because it acts as an instant debloat for your body. If you have a special event or if you ate too much and feel uncomfortable – fix a cup of dandelion tea.
