Food has the magical power of healing and nourishing, depending on the quality and quantity of what you are consuming plays a huge role. In the face of a great global health crisis, it’s important now more than ever to mind your diet and exercise.

Luckily, there are many foods that can act as a shield against the vicious forces that threaten your health in the world around you. Imagine the makeup of your diet to be like an antivirus software on a perfectly running computer.

Garlic is a delicious addition to nearly any dish. Scientific studies have proven that some of the benefits of garlic include reducing your risk of lung cancer, brain cancer, and prostate cancer. The active components in garlic can reduce blood pressure and it’s anti-microbial.

Sautéed or grilled, it could be wise of you to throw some mushrooms into your dish. They are packed with antioxidants and protect your body of free radical damage. Free radicals can cause ailments like cancer and heart disease. They’re packed with B and D vitamins, copper, and magnesium.

Spinach is notorious for being high in protein and low in calories. It is packed with vitamin A, C, K, manganese, and iron. Leafy green vegetables benefit eye health and reduce blood pressure levels. If there is any vegetable to include in your daily diet, it’s spinach.

Eggs are affordable and easily accessible. People have eaten eggs for thousands of years. In moderation, they’re a great addition to your diet – don’t exceed 2 eggs per day. Eggs contain nutrients that can boost your energy levels. They can be a building block of a healthy immune system because they contain vitamin A, vitamin B-12, and selenium.

Turmeric is a vibrant orange colored spice native to South Asia. It can prevent cold and flu. Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Inflammation in the body can cause a myriad of ailments. The best time to take turmeric is at the start of your day before you’ve consumed any meals.
