It may sound extremely scientific, but thermogenic foods aren’t found in the lab – they can be found in your kitchen. Thermogenic means a quality which produces heat. It causes an increase of heat through metabolic stimulation. Thermogenic stems from the term thermogenesis which means heat generating. Many weight loss supplements include thermogenic properties to speed up the metabolic rate of your body. Thermogenic come in synthetic and natural forms. Thermogenic fat burners increase the expenditure of calories and boost your metabolism.

Thermogenic raise your body temperature. When you create this heat and raise your core temperature, you’re burning calories like wood in a fire. Your body can handle temperature increases around five to ten decrease higher or lower than your usual temperature.

The thermic effect of food is one of the components of metabolism along with resting metabolic rate and the exercise component. A commonly used estimate of the thermic effect of food is about 10% of one’s caloric intake, though the effect varies substantially for different food components.
