Clean Eating: How It’s Possible

Reema Abdullah | October 20th, 2020

Is clean eating possible on a consistent basis? We are steadily spoon-fed ads of juicy burgers, fried snacks, and seductive sweets. How can clean eating even be possible with all of these temptresses surrounding us!

Clean eating should never be considered a side matter when it comes to overall health and fitness. Think of clean, consistent eating as the main dish – the gym and supplements are like side dishes that enhance the main meal. Diet is always going to be a star of the show – you’d better get on board or get left behind. It may seem intimidating at first, but when you start to feel, perform, and look better you’ll wonder why you didn’t start much sooner.

Effective and efficient ways to clean up your diet sooner rather than later, these small moves you can implement into your weekly routine will create new results in your life.

Moderation Is Key
Excess amounts of fat on your body, or a particularly high BMI is an indication you are consuming more than you need to. You aren’t working hard to burn it off either. Therefore – if you aren’t that active or lead an active lifestyle, you do not burn that many calories. You should look into reining in your calories. You can start by cutting your calories on a daily basis down by 200 to 300 and monitor your results for a few weeks.

200 to 300 calories can look like cutting out the daily soda and nutrient-empty and calorie-rich “snack.” It can also look like cutting out unnecessarily large portion sizes such as oversized drinks, extra servings, larger plates which results in large portions for your size.

Drink More Water
An extremely simple and too easy tip, drinking more water is one of the easiest ways to clean up your diet sooner rather than later. According to water research studies Water Logic conducted, nearly 75% of adults suffer chronic dehydration, drinking only 2.5 cups a day on average.2.5 cups a day is 6.5 cups short of the recommended water consumption amounts. Clearly, many are lacking in the water department. Often times, dehydration is often interpreted by your body as hunger. If you stay hydrated, you feel less hungry which results in cutting out a lot of unnecessary eating.

When there are a myriad of options coming in all colors and flavors, it’s easy to push water to the side. None of these drinks play a good role for your body as water does though – and that is why water will always win.

Get Moving
A body in motion stays in motion, this doesn’t just apply to the physical laws that govern the universe, this applies to an active person versus and inactive person. There’s absolutely no excuse why you cannot be active for 20 to 30 minutes per day. Even if you think you don’t have the time. For example, you can go on the treadmill and watch your favorite reality show instead of sitting sedentary on the couch for hours.
