There are many facts related to health and fitness floating around the internet you can gain a lot of knowledge from. There are also just as many myths to be mindful of. Social media is over saturated with quick fixes and weight loss secrets that claim to have you shredding pounds like crazy! The saying easy come easy go is true, methods that are quick fixes and fads are usually just a temporary solution to a bigger issue. Here are a few of the popular health and fitness myths you can find on anywhere from Instagram to a simple google search.

1. Fit Tea
Fit tea is commonly promoted by Instagram models. One of the most famous promoters of fit teas are the Kardashians and Jenners. They may give the illusion that they achieved their physique through fit teas, but this is furthest from the truth. They spend a lot of money to look the way that they look. At most, a fit tea will act as a diuretic. It Will make you use the bathroom very often. It won’t be successful in actually losing fat and gaining muscle.

2. Low-Calorie Diets
Low calorie diets are crash diets that usually consist of consuming anywhere between 800 to 1,500 calories per day. Although they might work in the moment, they are not a long-term fix. Usually what ends up happening is all of the initial weight loss is gained back after the individual returns to their original eating habits. So an individual can end up getting caught in a cycle of yoyo dieting. This can wreak havoc on your immune system and it can also create an unhealthy relationship with food.

3. Carbs Make You Gain Weight
There are endless amounts of low carb diets available on the market begging you to give up anything remotely bread related. Carbs are not evil. Actually, they are a very important macronutrient that you need in your diet. Refined carbs are linked to weight gain, not all carbs. Refined carbs are white rice, white bread, and pastries.
